Research Interests

The primary focus of Bonny's research is physical activity, sedentary behavior, and health. I am particularly interested in the role(s) of physical activity and sedentary behavior in prevention efforts for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In Bonny's current work she am utilizing patient/provider-centered approaches to improve integration of activity referral within clinical care settings.

Bonny is also interested in developing better methods for utilizing activity monitor data within clinical settings. In relation to this, she has worked with many researchers to develop strategies for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data from activity questionnaires and body worn activity monitors
